I come in here once or twice a month after a long night shift. The food is delicious, the staff are super friendly, and I always leave satisfied. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Eating breakfast at Peggy Lynn's place brought back memories of eating at the homes of people I didn't really know.
Take grits. I was asked if I wanted butter on my grits. I hesitated, and looked up, I guess? Does that mean they are made without butter? I come from the Grits As Man Food kitchen--salt and pepper, hot sauce, stir your eggs and crush your crispy bacon in it. On Sundays, tomato gravy gets poured over it and sausage patties are used to spoon it up. The grits that Peggy Lynn whips up are snowy white and if you are butter affirmative, as I was, come slathered with butter on top.
It was like wandering into someone's home you don't know, unexpectedly and unknown to them, and sitting down to breakfast, eating what they would eat when its just their family and their people. You know and I know, we cook differently if we are expecting guests for breakfast or if we just drug ourselves into the kitchen, yawning and blindly opening cupboards and drawers. Peggy Lynn actually had a heater on! It was a good 10 degrees warmer inside than outside. I could feel the sweat pooling on the small of my back.
Peggy Lynn's biscuits reminded me of my Gramma's who fried hers in leftover bacon grease in a cast iron pan. I think I would have rather had another one of those than the massive pile of grits which were just too pretty to be the kind of grits I normally enjoy. But you know, show up at someone's house unannounced and you eat the way they fix it.
My pancake was hubcap sized and came pre-buttered--after I was asked if I wanted butter on it. Interesting. As if people eat pancakes without butter? Who would those people be? I shudder at the thought. Or maybe people buttering with those little butter packets is too expensive?
I bet if I showed back up for lunch, I could get a bologna sandwich with Cheetos crushed inside two slices of Wonder Bread, maybe with a Little Debbie cake for dessert.
Hell, I'd eat that. -

I'm giving this place 2 stars because of the service. I loved it. They were very attentive and it seemed like a homey atmosphere.
However the food was subpar and look nothing like the photos. My date and I left very unsatisfied and wondering why we choose this place in the first place. Maybe it was an off day for us, but I didn't enjoy it. I don't plan on returning but if I did, it would be because of the service alone. -

I have been stopping by occasionally at Peggy Lynn's for a few months now the only thing I ever order is the first thing that was recommended to me on my first visit, grilled biscuits. When the nice lady behind the counter told me that Peggy grilled her biscuits I was intrigued to say the least. Since they came so highly recommended I decided to try it with sausage egg and cheese and my mind was blown. Peggy Lynn puts any other biscuit or breakfast sandwich that I have ever head to shame. I highly recommend them. The staff is always nice and I think they are starting to recognize my voice when I call in the order ahead, they are always friendly and smiling.
